March 30, 2011 at 4:00, the Sedona Fire District Governing Board will convene a special meeting in the Fire District's Multi-Purpose Room at 2860 Southwest Drive in West Sedona, Arizona. Sedona's Terrain and spread require much technical skill in emergency and rescue services

Chief Hazime said he knows the budget will be tough, but without raising the mill levy rate or using reserves, it will be even more difficult. The Sedona Fire District has one of the lowest mill rates in the State of Arizona at $1.40. The average mill rate is Arizona is $2.10. The current SFD Board of Directors is not responsible for bringing the mill down so low, but the previous Board understood that reserves might be needed to offset revenues during tough times. Sedona Fire District Is Losing Good People "Unfortunately, SFD is losing good employees," reported Chief Nazih Hazime at the Board Meeting on March 23, 2011. In looking into why that might be happening, he pointed to two factors. First, the Chief said, employees look at him as their leader – he's the Fire Chief for the district.
