At the Democrats of the Red Rocks (DORR) monthly breakfast today, former Sedona Police Chief Joe Vernier withdrew from the race for one of three City Council vacancies to be voted on March 13, 2012, or later if a run-off vote is required. Vernier stated his reasons were personal, mentioning he had a heart attack on Saturday, January 14, 2012.
